Bought:
1. The Hobbit, J. R. R. Tolkien
2. Kafka on the Shore, Haruki Murakami
3. Between Shades of Gray, Ruta Sepetys
My brother's copy of The Hobbit is so tattered that I just had to get a new one when I saw it in the bookstore last night. I've been eyeing Between Shades of Gray for a while now and I was pleased when I took the last copy of it from the display table. Buying new books is always such a joy for me and don't you love it as you watch your very own collection grow?

Ahh, I absolutely love buying new books! As much as I love buying them for the reading aspect (obviously), I also love buying them just because I love books :')
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of those books, which is surprising because The Hobbit is definitely a book I should have read by now. In 8th grade, the other literature class aside from mine read it, and we... well... we did not. It was never assigned to us! Kind of a lazy literature class, I must say.
I'll have to check out the other two as I've never heard of them before C:
Oh! Are you kidding me... purchasing new books is the best feeling in the world. :) I have SO many -- I am literally buying them faster then I read them, lol.
ReplyDeleteBy the way -- The Hobbit is one of my favorites! :D
I love buying/receiving books too! Although, I'm not too crazy on the condition of the books. Well, if it's REALLY tattered and falling a part, then yes, I will have a problem with that. xD
ReplyDeleteI've been seeing a lot of Haruki Murakami lately. Is he "in" or something?? I feel like I'm lost in this new author trend, haha.
I love getting new books too! I am waiting on the one I just ordered. "The Ruins".. ever heard of it?
ReplyDeleteI just finished reading The Hobbit. I can't believe it took me so long before I got to it. It's such a wonderful story.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, and it really is very satisfying to have your own book collection and adding new books to it every now and then. It's not the same as having a huge e-book collection. I like the smell of new books.
I haven't heard of the other two books you bought. By the looks of it (the cover), Between Shades of Gray seems like a book with a heavy theme. I'm curious to find out what it is about.
I love love love buying books. Nothing can replace paper.
ReplyDeleteI WANT NEW BOOKS SO JEALOUS!
ReplyDeleteThose new books are so beautiful I want to open them and sniff the pages. Yup, I'm one of the creeps who do that. But they are just so perfectly rectangular it's hard to resist! I love buying new books but I don't get to read them because I don't have time. When my favorite bookstore went out of business last summer I bought three books and still haven't read any.
ReplyDeleteI have read In Between Shades of Grey and its so sad but excellent! I recently stumbled across your blog and I LOVE it! I love the layout to the content and everything in between! Your blog is simply the epitome of perfection! I am your newest, most avid follower, I look forward to reading your future posts. I would love it if you could perhaps follow me back too? Have a lovely day!
